Lunch box-friendly St Patrick’s day recipes
St Patrick’s Day is coming up on March 17, and whether you’re Irish or not, it’s fun to get into the spirit of the day! We love filling our kids’ Yumboxes up with all things green, to give them a bit of St Patrick’s Day fun even while they’re at school.
Shamrock shake
How cute are these shamrock shakes by Saving Dollars and Sense?! We love them! But, we know what you’re thinking – how can you pack a milkshake in a school lunch? Easy: with the Drink in the Box. It has a straw thick enough to slurp up milkshakes, as well as water, juice or whatever you fancy.
Dark chocolate dipped strawberries
We’ll take any excuse to make (and eat!) some chocolate dipped strawberries, so St Patrick’s Day is no exception. Kereen Gordon shares her Irish-inspired take on the beloved recipe, and we’ll certainly be giving it a try this year.
Avocado devilled eggs
For a fun, festive take on devilled eggs, we love this avocado option by This Mama Cooks! While they aren’t necessarily Irish on their own, they do make a perfect addition to a green-filled Yumbox – plus, they’re healthy!
Matcha banana bread
Perfect for a busy school morning or for popping in their Yumbox, both you and the kids will love this matcha-infused banana bread. Fearless Dining has dreamt up this delicious combination, and safe to say, we’re obsessed!
St Patrick’s Day Oreo bark
‘Bark’ is the easiest, most delicious dessert – it’s a no bake treat and totally customisable, meaning you can tweak it to whatever you’re feeling or celebrating. In this case, it’s St Patrick’s Day and we’re following The Country Cook’s recipe.
