Our kids are barely back to school and we’re already all over the internet in search of something, anything to inspire us to keep packing their lunches. We’re looking for easy, delicious recipes we can make ahead and freeze for later – and obviously, we’ve turned to Kidgredients for help. Here are the five recipes we’ll have on high rotation this school year, courtesy of Kylie.
Veggie filled, tricolour baked frittatas
Are you always having to get creative to get your kids to eat more veggies? It turns out, the solution may be as simple as some delicious frittatas! They’re easy to freeze (you don’t even need to defrost them before popping them in your kids’ Yumbox) and make for an easy brekkie, too.
Black forest cherry chocolate muffins
Low in sugar and packed with flavour, these black forest cherry chocolate muffins are the perfect addition to any lunchbox. The sour cream keeps them moist and springy – even after freezing! – so they’re the perfect make-ahead treat.
Hawaii pizza scrolls
With less than five ingredients and taking no longer than five minutes to prepare, these Hawaiian pizza scrolls are an absolute saviour when you’re running low on time and inspo. They’re also freezable – winner, winner!
Nut-free passionfruit bliss balls
With all of the flavour of nutty bliss balls, though totally school-safe, these passionfruit bliss balls are going to be making their way into our Yumboxes a TONNE this school year. Perfect for summer and easy to freeze, we couldn’t love them any more if we tried.
Cheese and bacon rolls
You probably won’t believe us when we say that these cheese and bacon rolls taste JUST like the bakery ones, but they do. They’re free from nasties, perfect for getting the kids in the kitchen and can even be frozen for later. Dare we say, they may be better than the bakery ones?
